In today’s fashion landscape, collaborations are no longer simply about generating buzz between brands. Increasingly, they function as a way of revealing shared cultural languages — showing who connects with whom, and through what sensibilities.
A.P.C. has announced “A.P.C. FRGMT INTERACTION #30,” a new collaboration with Fragment Design as part of its ongoing small-scale capsule project “INTERACTION.” The collection launches on May 19, 2026.

Fragment Design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara is often referred to as the “godfather of Harajuku style,” credited with introducing hip-hop and American casual culture to Tokyo at an early stage and helping shape Japan’s street culture. Meanwhile, A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou is known as one of the defining figures of French minimalism.
At first glance, the two designers may appear to come from very different worlds. Yet what connects them is a shared language rooted in curiosity, sound, craftsmanship, and style.
The capsule collection draws inspiration from the French art movement “Supports/Surfaces,” known for deconstructing and reconstructing form and material during the 1960s and 1970s. That philosophy is reflected in the shared slash logo connecting A.P.C. and Fragment Design.

A.P.C.’s signature guitar-and-dagger emblem is also reinterpreted through Fragment Design’s lightning-bolt motif, creating a new visual identity for the collaboration.
Jean Touitou describes the project as “a natural convergence of aesthetics found across music, food, streetwear, and contemporary art.”

The work jacket references garments worn in Modern Times starring Charlie Chaplin, while the jeans pay tribute to Cool Hand Luke and Paul Newman through contrasting rubber stripes and cuff detailing. The result carries a subtle cinematic mood throughout the collection.

Additional pieces include poplin shirts with checked side panels, graphic T-shirts, and leather card holders. Embroidered initials — H.F. for Hiroshi Fujiwara and J.T. for Jean Touitou — appear throughout as signatures of the collaboration.
To celebrate the launch, a special event will also be held at A.P.C. Daikanyama HOMME, featuring DJ sets by Kan Takagi and Mayu Kakihata alongside food and drinks.

The relationship between A.P.C. and Fragment Design extends beyond a typical fashion collaboration. It intersects with Tokyo club culture, streetwear, music, and French minimalism — all layered together within a single project.
Rather than treating fashion as clothing alone, “INTERACTION #30” proposes a broader cultural experience shaped through sound, space, and human connection.

A “Canadian Tuxedo” With Cinematic Undertones
The collection was conceived in the kitchen of A.P.C.’s Rue Madame headquarters in Paris, where the two designers began sketching a full denim silhouette — a cinematic interpretation of the “Canadian tuxedo.”
