Maison Martin Margiela will host the photo exhibition "#smellslikememories" to celebrate the launch of two new fragrances in its "Replica" series. The exhibition will run from December 13th to 28th.

"#smellslikememories" is a photography project launched in 2013 to commemorate the launch of the "Replica" fragrance. Works evocative of the fragrance's theme were collected by artists, photographers, writers, and celebrities from around the world and exhibited in a gallery. An online gallery is also available. In addition to photographs previously exhibited in Paris and London, this exhibition will feature new works by 50 Tokyo-based photographers, artists, art directors, architects, and writers.

The "Replica" fragrance (12,000 yen) is inspired by the clothing and accessories in the capsule collection. Since its launch in 2012, six new fragrances have been released in the two years since.

Two new fragrances will be added to the lineup in December. "At the Barber" features notes of soap and lavender, reminiscent of a clean barber shop. Cedar is reinterpreted in a modern way, with base notes of leather and wood. Meanwhile, "Tea Escape," inspired by the tea ceremony, has a refreshing and seductive base scent of green tea. Accents include bergamot and pink pepper, and the whole is enveloped in a creamy scent of puffed rice.
