agnès b. Presents “agnès b. on aime le graff!! _50 Years with the Streets” at Shibuya PARCO

Event Date:2026.05.22-06.08
May 22, 2026
In recent years, the relationship between luxury fashion and street culture has become increasingly layered and complex. Yet long before that relationship was framed as a “trend,” there was already a figure quietly paying attention to the voices and expressions emerging from the streets.

agnès b. will present the exhibition “agnès b. on aime le graff!! _50 Years with the Streets” at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO on the 4th floor of Shibuya PARCO, beginning May 22.

The exhibition originates from a show first held at La Piscine Museum in Roubaix, France, and has been newly reconfigured for its touring editions in Shibuya and Tainan.

agnès b.’s Longstanding Dialogue with the Streets

Since opening her first Paris boutique in 1976, agnès b. has continuously looked toward the streets for inspiration. Founder Agnès Troublé has long referred to herself not as a “designer,” but as a “stylist,” creating timeless clothing untouched by fleeting trends.

As early as 1984, she was already offering artists spaces to exhibit their work, expanding far beyond the conventional boundaries of a fashion brand to engage deeply with art, music, film, and street culture.

This exhibition sheds light on her pioneering perspective and profound respect for street art — an aspect of her work that has rarely been fully explored until now.

Tracing the History of Graffiti Through Archives
The exhibition presents works from agnès b.’s vast personal collection, built over decades, featuring more than 20 artists. Works by FUTURA 2000, Craig “KR” Costello, Hiraku Suzuki, and Dennis Hopper trace the evolution and cultural history of graffiti.

What makes the exhibition especially compelling is that it moves beyond the framework of a conventional “street art exhibition,” instead revealing how fashion and art have continuously intersected and resonated with one another.

Archives of iconic “artist T-shirts” created in collaboration with artists from different eras, alongside previously unseen materials, further reveal the relationship between the brand and artists as a form of cultural history in itself.

A Collaboration with KRINK

The venue will also feature a special collaborative T-shirt created with Craig “KR” Costello, one of the defining figures of New York’s graffiti scene and founder of the art supply brand KRINK.

The project brings together agnès b., KR, PARCO, and the Tainan Art Museum, symbolizing the exhibition’s touring nature and the cultural dialogue between cities.

Today, artist collaborations by fashion brands are no longer unusual. But in the case of agnès b., these collaborations feel less like marketing exercises and more like the continuation of long-standing cultural conversations.

Beyond the Framework of a Fashion Brand
Many luxury brands today are approaching art and street culture. What continues to make agnès b. distinct may be the fact that the brand did not “move toward” those cultures later on — it was already there from the beginning.

More than simply introducing graffiti and street art, the exhibition reflects on a fifty-year relationship with the streets themselves. At a moment when the boundaries between fashion, art, and urban culture continue to blur, the significance of agnès b.’s perspective feels especially resonant once again.
