Bvlgari unveiled the new Octo Roma at Watches and Wonders 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Octo Roma's design, which allows for a variety of complications, serves as a platform for showcasing Bvlgari's exceptional Haute Horlogerie. With its striking beauty and meticulous function, the tourbillon is a true testament to Bvlgari's watchmaking excellence. The tourbillon's captivating movement and the delicate details on the dial magnificently showcase each model's unique functions. The interior space within the Octo Roma's case allowed for this tourbillon, a technical masterpiece. Crafted in Neuchâtel by watchmakers driven by a passion for meticulous mechanics, each tourbillon calibre has a strong personality and is fitted as a flying tourbillon in a 44 mm men's watch. The models featuring sapphire cases feature a completely skeletonised middle case, allowing full visibility of the intricate movement within.

Two unique timepieces
The Octo Roma Striking Papillon Tourbillon and the other tourbillon, the Striking Tourbillon Sapphire, are presented in more refined, gently curved cases that exude an airier atmosphere. These two sporty timepieces express Bvlgari's vision of Haute Horlogerie in a highly modern way. Their refined design and the relationship between materials and colors are both minimal and edgy. Embodying an innovative vision that challenges the conventions of (de)constructing time, each reinvents the tourbillon mechanism in its own unique way. The tourbillon commands a commanding presence at 6 o'clock and in its center. Bvlgari has placed this great watchmaking complication, patented in 1801, in a dignified position befitting its prestige. With a 60-hour power reserve—enough to last more than a weekend—it instantly captivates, captivates, and inspires creativity.
The Octo Roma Papillon Tourbillon is powerful, technically advanced, and playful at the same time. At noon, a window displays the hours, while the minutes are displayed in a semicircular display marked from 0 to 60. Two hands alternate between indicating the hours, and when the first hand reaches 60 minutes, a luminous white double tip activates to indicate the time. Meanwhile, the second hand remains stationary and does not timekeeping. At the 60-minute mark, a dramatic change of scenery takes place: the hour hand moves and the other hand returns to its upright position. This unique complication, presented in a distinctive, vibrant green, is presented in a titanium case with a contemporary, urban design.

Italian craftsmanship with Swiss roots
The Octo Roma Striking Tourbillon Sapphire offers a contemporary reinterpretation of Haute Horlogerie. The two central hands and the manual-winding tourbillon at 6 o'clock showcase Bvlgari's time-honored aesthetics and watchmaking techniques. Yet, Bvlgari has taken a counter-approach to this direction, inspired by tradition, incorporating a refined yet powerful Roman DNA. The movement, with its extremely simple form and completely skeletonized sapphire face, back, and middle case, appears to float in a sea of light. The long indexes are firmly fixed to the titanium case. Pressing the intriguing push-button at 3 o'clock reveals a red dot on the axis of the winding system, which performs the same operation as pulling the crown to set the time. Pressing it twice cancels the time setting and winds the movement for up to 64 hours. This unique microcomplication, born from ingenious watchmaking, creates a special bond between the wearer and the watch.
