Spotify, one of the world's largest music streaming services with 159 million active users, launched its service in four new countries on March 13: Israel, Romania, South Africa, and Vietnam.
Spotify not only offers a wide selection of domestic and international music, music discovery features, and innovative recommendations tailored to users' tastes, but also offers a choice of ad-supported free plan and paid premium plan, which have helped it gain support from music fans around the world.
In response to this announcement, Cecilia Qvist, Global Head of Market at Spotify, said the following: "We are thrilled to be able to provide Spotify services in Israel, Romania, South Africa, and Vietnam, connecting each country's rich musical culture with artists and users from all over the world."
In recent years, Asia has experienced rapid growth and development in art and culture, including music, along with economic development, and Africa and the Middle East, which excel at mixing indigenous culture with Western-derived culture, have joined Spotify's market. We will continue to pay close attention to what changes this will bring to the global music scene.
Spotify currently provides its service in 65 countries around the world, and the number of paid premium plan users has reached over 71 million.
