Maison Kitsuné has unveiled a capsule collection created in collaboration with Tokyo-based denim brand KURO, set to be released on March 3. Rooted in the shared values of two brands shaped by Paris and Tokyo, the collection presents a new chapter in Maison Kitsuné’s cultural relationship with Japan.

Maison Kitsuné and KURO developed the collection under a shared philosophy: viewing clothing not merely as product, but as culture. KURO’s approach is grounded in Japanese craftsmanship, with skilled artisans overseeing every stage of production—from material selection and dyeing to cutting and sewing—entirely within Japan. Through this process, denim is presented not as an industrial object, but as something that evolves over time, forming an intimate relationship with the individual wearer.

The collection features Japanese-made selvedge denim and other carefully selected materials, with craftsmanship visible down to the finest details of weaving and construction. The distinctive edges and textures of selvedge denim reveal the structure of the material itself, making visible both its physical presence and the processes behind its creation. Rooted in Japan’s tradition of meticulous craftsmanship, these garments convey not only surface refinement, but also the traces of time and handwork embedded within them.

The lineup centers on foundational denim pieces such as work jackets and trousers, alongside T-shirts, caps, and bags. These items draw upon KURO’s deep understanding of material and structure, while being reinterpreted through Maison Kitsuné’s perspective. While retaining the functional origins of workwear, the pieces are presented with a refined balance characteristic of the Paris-based brand, resulting in products with a distinct new presence.

Maison Kitsuné has long expanded beyond fashion through activities spanning music, cafés, and broader lifestyle experiences, establishing itself as a brand that moves fluidly across cultural boundaries. KURO, meanwhile, continues to develop products rooted in Japanese denim culture and artisan craftsmanship. This collaboration emerges from the intersection of these two distinct backgrounds, presenting denim not simply as material, but as a medium carrying cultural meaning.

Paris and Tokyo—two cities shaped by different cultural contexts—converge within this collection through a shared understanding. Clothing is presented not merely as function or ornament, but as a vessel that carries time, memory, and culture. Through this collaboration, Maison Kitsuné and KURO offer a renewed perspective on the relationship between craftsmanship and culture through the medium of denim.
