What was Ralph Lauren's favorite dish? A restaurant that recreates his favorite dish opens in New York

Jan 8, 2015

Ralph Lauren will open a restaurant, The Polo Bar, in New York. The Polo Bar first opened in Chicago in 1999. Since then, it has served classic American-style cuisine, featuring Ralph Lauren's beloved menu items. The exterior walls, designed by painter Henry Cora, were inspired by polo matches. The interior also incorporates saddle leather and Equestrian art, embodying Ralph Lauren's vision of "dining with family and friends."

Dishes served include crispy kelp salad, crab cakes, corned beef sandwiches, and steaks. The signature dish, the Polo Bar Burger, is made with beef delivered directly from a Colorado ranch. Ice cream and custom coffee blends are homemade desserts and drinks from Ralph's Coffee, the cafe located on the second floor of the adjacent flagship store.
