"Flowers invigorate everyone who sees them. We want to channel that power into makeup," CHICCA's Spring 2016 collection was unveiled in Roppongi. Inspired by a paradise-inspired image, this collection is themed around "flower power." It evokes the euphoria and soft, warm feelings one feels when admiring flowers. The new products, which evoke the pure, innocent mind of childhood, boast exquisite color and a delicate shimmer that flatters the face. The stars of this spring collection are base makeup items. These two items, "Ravishing Glow Makeup Base Tone Up" (2 colors, 4,000 yen) and "Radiant Nude Pressed Powder" (2 types, including one limited edition, 4,500 yen / 1,500 yen case), will be available from February 17, 2016.
Brand creator Yasuo Yoshikawa gave us a detailed demonstration and explanation of KIKKA's new products. Yoshikawa has been working as a makeup artist based in Tokyo since 1983, and has worked on covers and fashion page shoots for magazines such as Vogue around the world, as well as advertising, collections, and celebrity portraits.
"Needless to say, base makeup is a very important step. It's important to use a product that suits your skin, as well as the coverage and texture. It's also important to find the product that best suits you. It's also important to visualize the type of makeup you want to create every morning. What I look for in a foundation is transparency. I believe that lucent powder fulfills this role. It certainly does impart a translucent look. However, many products also have a tendency to stain, and some feel powdery. I've always had doubts about this. That's one of the reasons why we focused on transparency for KIKKA."
And so, the new Radiant Nude Pressed Powder was born. Its seven secrets lie in its creation: The lustrous skin created by colorless powder and glass glitter, the visible yet invisible "mistramé", the transparency of the grayish-looking powder, highlights without a white cast, a sparkle up close that is dazzling from a distance, a brush that blends in with the skin, and a subtle lift that sublimates the skin.
Kikka's spring also features a point makeup collection that will give you a happy expression, like flowers sparkling in the spring sunshine. The lustrous and graceful expressions created by this collection are layered with a sparkle reminiscent of the paintings of Renoir and Degas. Below is the lineup of the point makeup collection, which will be released on January 20th.
