YUKI TORII INTERNATIONAL presented its 2013-2014 Autumn/Winter collection at Laforet Museum Roppongi on March 15th. Designer Yuki Torii. As with the previous Spring/Summer collection, the show was set against a Parisian-style arcade.
The show was composed of six scenes, each with changing background music and lighting. Overall, the collection evoked a chic and refined ladylike image. This season's silhouettes featured elegant I-lines with gently shaped waists, wide-leg pants, and knee-length I-lines. Models with hair styled in rolls from the front to the sides walked the runway at a relaxed pace.
The first act featured navy and black tones, accented with fur and metallic silver accents. The first look featured wide-leg pants styled with a voluminous black fur vest. The top worn underneath features a necklace motif around the neck and snow crystal motifs on the sides of the arms, adorned with jewels. The sleeves are five-quarter length, a style that will be seen more often in the future, with puff sleeve details.
The second act featured a variation of warm, dark tones using thick, rough materials such as checked tweed, tiger print, black lace, and checked patchwork.
The third act was a collection that boldly used one bright color within each style. The first half featured large checked tweed in yellow and blue, while the second half featured monochromatic outfits in red, blue, and black.
The fourth act featured large floral patterns and the continued use of large checked patterns, with a subdued yet feminine line that still featured hints of yellow, orange, blue, pink, and green.
The first half of Act 5 featured a variation of suits made from silver or pink gold floral jacquard fabric, while the second half featured dresses and pantsuits in black and midnight blue velvet with pink and yellow linings as accent colors and ruffles peeking out.
The final act, Act 6, featured four dressy styles. A long olive green satin dress, a black lacy jumpsuit, a fuchsia pink knee-length I-line dress, and a voluminous black set-up featuring a top made from floral jacquard fabric with corsages made from the same material lavishly adorned at the hem.
