Onitsuka Tiger Opens Its Second-Largest Flagship Store in Japan in Nagoya—A New Gateway for the Brand Across Central Japan

Aug 6, 2026
A store is more than a place to shop—it reflects a brand's vision. What it chooses to display, the city it calls home, and the atmosphere it creates all reveal where the brand is heading.

In July 2026, Onitsuka Tiger opened its largest global flagship store in Shinjuku. The brand's next destination is Nagoya, the gateway to Japan's Tokai and Chubu regions.

Opening on August 7, the new flagship will become Onitsuka Tiger's second-largest store in Japan. Bringing together every category within the brand, it is designed not only as a retail destination but also as a place where visitors can experience its craftsmanship, aesthetics, and creative vision.

Why Nagoya?

Nagoya Station is more than the transportation hub of Aichi Prefecture. It connects the wider Tokai and Chubu regions—including Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka—while serving as the first point of arrival for many domestic and international visitors.

For Onitsuka Tiger, this location represents far more than a commercial district. It has been chosen as a new platform for communicating the brand's identity.

While the Shinjuku flagship serves as a global showcase, the Nagoya store functions as a regional gateway, expanding the brand's presence throughout central Japan. The distinction reflects a carefully considered retail strategy rather than simple geographic expansion.

A Space That Brings Together the Entire Brand

The Nagoya flagship presents every category within the Onitsuka Tiger universe.

The Heritage (Onitsuka Tiger) line features both NIPPON MADE and ITALIAN MADE, reinterpreting the brand's archives through contemporary craftsmanship. The Contemporary (ONITSUKA TIGER) collection, presented during Milan Fashion Week, is also available, alongside THE ONITSUKA, the brand's premium dress shoe line, making its debut in the Nagoya area.

More than a destination for footwear, the store offers a comprehensive expression of the Onitsuka Tiger lifestyle.

An Interior Inspired by the Spirit of Nagoya

The store's design reflects two defining characteristics of Nagoya: its refined cultural heritage and its enduring identity as a city of craftsmanship.

The first floor combines terrazzo flooring with steel elements to create an open, contemporary atmosphere. Suspended luminous boxes inspired by traditional Japanese andon lanterns cast rhythmic patterns of light and shadow throughout the space.

Upstairs, Rosso Lepanto marble becomes the defining architectural feature. Contrasted with steel, it creates a calmer and more intimate environment where the architecture itself communicates the brand's aesthetic, rather than simply serving as a backdrop for merchandise.

From Retail Space to Brand Experience

In recent years, Onitsuka Tiger has redefined its stores as places to experience the brand's values and storytelling, rather than simply purchase products.

That philosophy continues in Nagoya, following the opening of its global flagship in Shinjuku.

By bringing together every product category while expressing its identity through architecture, materials, and craftsmanship, the new flagship demonstrates how each city can play a unique role within the brand's network.

Positioned as a new gateway to the Tokai and Chubu regions, the Nagoya flagship represents the next chapter in Onitsuka Tiger's evolving presence across Japan.
