LOEWE Reweaves Ginza’s Past and Future — CASA LOEWE Ginza Opens Along Chuo Street

Jan 13, 2026
LOEWE has opened CASA LOEWE Ginza along Chuo Street in Tokyo’s Ginza district. As the brand’s largest store in Japan and its second largest worldwide, the new location spans four floors and 965 square meters, offering a full range of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, bags, shoes, jewelry, eyewear, soft accessories, fragrances, home scents, candles, and leather goods.

Rooted in the CASA LOEWE design concept—where the intimacy of an art collector’s home meets a refined retail environment—the Ginza store presents a dialogue between Spanish sensibility and Japanese design. Handcrafted ceramic tiles in a distinctive muddy green tone wrap the exterior and continue inside, their irregular glazing and subtle indentations catching and reflecting light in ever-changing ways. The deep green hue evokes Ginza’s distant past, when the area was once a low-lying wetland at the edge of Edo-maejima, bringing historical memory into the contemporary cityscape.

Inside, a rich selection of marbles—Ancient Green, Cristallo Iceberg, Pinta Verde, and Sahara Brown—appears throughout the space. Brass window frames reference another chapter of Ginza’s history as a center of minting, where silver and gold coins were once produced. At the heart of the store, a central staircase clad in green ceramic tiles curves gently upward, its handcrafted wooden handrails guiding visitors through all four floors. Natural light fills the interior, enhancing the tactile harmony of stone, wood, ceramic, and concrete.

The fourth floor introduces experiences unique to CASA LOEWE Ginza. A dedicated fragrance and home scents area invites visitors to explore LOEWE’s nature-inspired Bath line, while a gifting and personalization space allows products to be customized with charms and mini bags. The world’s first LOEWE gift counter presents traditional Spanish sweets such as palmeras, polvorones, and chocolates. To celebrate the opening, limited-edition cookies created by Japanese icing-cookie artist Fiocco are also available for a limited time.

Coinciding with the opening, LOEWE has launched a campaign titled “Nice to meet you, once again.” Reflecting Ginza’s spirit of honoring the past while embracing transformation, the campaign unfolds through a video project and a specially produced Ginza city guide.

The video, directed by filmmaker Xavier Terz and set to Kyu Sakamoto’s iconic song Ue o Muite Arukō, captures a quiet optimism that resonates with LOEWE’s values. Featuring a multi-generational cast—including artist Junko Asano, actress Arisa Nakano, local icon Bon-chan the tortoise, and actress Yukiko Kashiwagi—the film poetically depicts the evolving relationship between Ginza and those who walk its streets.

Distributed alongside the campaign, the Ginza city guide delves into CASA LOEWE Ginza from architectural and aesthetic perspectives, while also sharing stories behind the video, cast interviews, and insights into the creative process. Available at Morioka Shoten and Nakamura Katsujiten, the guide is accompanied by special flags displayed along Chuo Street and Harumi Street for a limited period. Exclusive and early-release items—including collaborations with Kyoto-based ceramic artists Suna Fujita—further position CASA LOEWE Ginza as a cultural and creative hub that reaffirms LOEWE’s enduring relationship with the city.
