When a luxury brand meets pop culture, the result is rarely just an exercise in cuteness. Instead, it becomes an opportunity to reinterpret the identities that each brand has carefully cultivated over time.

Munich-born luxury brand MCM has unveiled the second chapter of its capsule collection with Sanrio’s beloved Hello Kitty. Expanding on the successful collaboration first introduced in 2024, the new collection extends beyond Visetos-adorned bags and leather accessories to include ready-to-wear pieces. It also serves as a celebration of MCM’s 50th anniversary in 2026, marking a milestone in the brand’s history.
One of the collection’s defining features is its monochrome interpretation of Hello Kitty.
Rather than emphasizing the character’s familiar sweetness, Hello Kitty has been reimagined to blend naturally into MCM’s timeless design language. Set against the brand’s signature cognac Visetos monogram and black leather, the monochrome motif creates a balanced dialogue between luxury craftsmanship and pop culture.

These details position the capsule as more than another character collaboration. Instead, they transform it into a statement collection that reflects a landmark year in MCM’s evolution.

The collection includes backpacks, shopper bags, crossbody bags, and nylon bags, alongside leather accessories such as wallets, card holders, AirPods Pro cases, and bag charms.

For the first time, the collaboration also introduces an expanded ready-to-wear offering, including denim jackets, denim jeans, track jackets, track pants, polo shirts, and T-shirts. Building upon the original collaboration, the capsule now extends beyond accessories to present a lifestyle-oriented wardrobe.
Hello Kitty has become one of Japan’s most recognizable cultural icons, beloved around the world. Since its founding in 1976, meanwhile, MCM has built its own vision of luxury around the spirit of travel and unrestricted self-expression.
Rather than simply inviting Hello Kitty into the world of MCM, this collection reinterprets the character through the brand’s own design language.

By bringing luxury and pop culture together once again, the collaboration introduces a renewed sense of playfulness—one that feels particularly fitting as MCM celebrates its 50th anniversary.
