Marking its 90th anniversary since its founding in 1935, Yoshida & Co. has unveiled “TANKER COYOTE” as the final chapter of its anniversary project.
Presented under its flagship label PORTER, the collection will be released through a limited distribution network, including the “TANKER LIMITED STORE” at Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building, as well as select locations in Japan and overseas.
Rather than a conventional limited edition, the release can be understood as a reflection on time—how an enduring product evolves without losing its identity.

Inspired by the U.S. Air Force MA-1 flight jacket, the series is characterized by its lightweight nylon twill construction and signature contrast lining. Over decades, it has maintained a consistent structure while undergoing subtle refinements.
RECON BAG ¥110,000- (tax included) | Courtesy of YOSHIDA & Co.
Its significance lies not in responding to trends, but in accumulating value through continuity—evolving gradually while preserving its core design language.
TOOL BAG ¥74,800- (tax included) | Courtesy of YOSHIDA & Co.
Unlike the traditional black or sage green variations, this tone blends more seamlessly into its surroundings, offering a subdued, neutral presence. In military contexts, coyote brown functions as camouflage; here, it introduces a quieter relationship between the product and its environment.
COMMUNICATOR BAG ¥99,000- (tax included) | Courtesy of YOSHIDA & Co.
This shift suggests a move away from contrast toward integration—reframing how the series engages with contemporary sensibilities.

“TANKER COYOTE,” positioned as the project’s final installment, reflects that approach. Rather than introducing radical changes, it proposes a measured transformation through color—an understated yet precise gesture that encapsulates the brand’s sense of time.

This controlled distribution does more than create scarcity; it shapes the experience of encountering the product itself.

For Yoshida & Co., a brand that has navigated nearly a century by balancing tradition and evolution, this collection can be seen both as a point of arrival and as a starting point for future iterations.

Throughout its 90th anniversary year, Yoshida & Co. has released a series of commemorative projects and products. What emerges across these initiatives is not a simple revival of the past, but an exploration of how to update it.

“TANKER COYOTE” does not assert novelty in an overt way.
