MEDICOM TOY, known for bridging toys and contemporary art, presents “Bestioles,” a new exhibition by French textile sculptor Anne Valérie Dupond, now on view at MEDICOM TOY PLUS in Omotesando Hills. Through December 14, visitors can experience the artist’s signature technique of stitching together vintage fabrics, lace, and found textiles to create sculptural forms that appear to breathe softly within the space.

The exhibition title “Bestioles” is a French term affectionately referring to “small, curious creatures.” True to its name, the exhibition brings together 113 works: animal-inspired textile sculptures, figurative pieces, floral brooches, and new editions of ONE OF KIND BE@RBRICK 1000%.

The venue unfolds across six zones—Mer, Terre, Ciel, Maison, Broche, and BE@RBRICK 1000%—each offering a quiet habitat for these creatures to reveal their distinct personalities. Dupond’s poetic use of fabric, thread, and lace infuses the entire space with an intimate warmth, drawing out the “memory of materials” that underpins her practice.

A leading figure in textile sculpture - Crossing art and fashion for over 25 years
After studying fine arts in Strasbourg, Dupond developed a sculptural language rooted in vintage textiles and hand-stitching. Her body of work, known for its blend of humor, tenderness, and subtle satire, has spanned collaborations with Kenzo, Comme des Garçons, UNDERCOVER, and an ongoing partnership with MEDICOM TOY. For more than two decades, she has navigated the intersections of art, craft, and fashion with distinctive sensibility.
