From July 29th, Isetan Shinjuku Men's Store will host a photo exhibition titled "Bird's Eye View" by Yudai Goto, a video director, photographer, and sound creator, at Men's Creators' ART UP on the second floor. The exhibition will run until September 1st.
"NO.10 Shinjuku #2"88,000 yen (B2/Picture SIZE 515×728mm)49,500 yen (A3/Picture SIZE 297×420mm)
Yudai Goto, based in Tokyo, is a creator who works as a photographer, video director, and drone pilot, using his street-like sense of color as his weapon. He taught himself photography and while his work was highly acclaimed in various media, he began taking aerial photographs in earnest out of a desire to "take pictures from perspectives that no one has ever seen before." He currently presides over "THE DRAWNERS," a creative team formed as a result of his interest in aerial photography.
"NO. 11 Shinjuku #3"88,000 yen (B2/Picture SIZE 728×515mm)49,500 yen (A3/Picture SIZE 420×297mm)
This photo exhibition will display and sell works that have been photographed using drones of cities and townscapes both in Japan and abroad. One of the highlights of the exhibition is the "orderly beauty" that is unique to man-made structures, captured in aerial shots taken from drones of things like Nagoya's expressway and a basketball court in Hong Kong.
During the exhibition, there will be a selection of rare old photographs that are currently prohibited from being taken due to legal restrictions, as well as works taken with special permission above the Isetan Shinjuku store. In addition, merchandise with these aerial photographs printed on T-shirts and tote bags will also be available for purchase.
