UK-based photographer Molly Macindoe will be visiting Japan to promote the second edition of her photo book, "Out of Order." She will be holding a book signing session at 7 PM on November 15th at BOOKMARC in Harajuku.



Born in Qatar and raised in the UK, photographer Molly Macindoe has been participating in and documenting the European underground free party scene, primarily in London, since 1997. After graduating from Westminster School of Art in 2005, she began her career as a social documentary photographer, publishing her first photo book, "Out of Order," in 2011.




The long-awaited book, "Out of Order," is now back in a second edition from UK publisher Ditto. This new edition builds on the 400 images from the first edition with 70 new photos, including four new events, capturing a total of 77 parties over a decade. It documents how a UK-based underground culture survived and thrived while evolving across Europe and beyond. The foreword by photographer Tom Hunter and the commentary on rave culture by musicologist Caroline Stedman are also must-reads.


In addition to the second edition of "Out of Order," this time around, there is also a rare deadstock first edition that was lost by the distribution company upon publication and discovered in a warehouse at the end of 2017. The first edition, published by London art gallery Doomed Gallery, has a different binding and design, and some works are exclusive to this edition. Also on sale will be a set of 14 postcards digitally printed on classic postcard paper, and a limited edition T-shirt (6,000 yen) commemorating the band's visit to Japan featuring hand-printed drawings by designer Tom Camm of key photographs from "Out of Order."
