Seiko Watch Corporation will release a limited edition model from Credor's Art Piece Collection on August 19th, depicting the "Butterfly Dream" motif, created by a master engraver with extensive experience in metalworking.

Product Features
The world of "Butterfly Dream" expressed through "MovingEngraving"

Kiyoshi Terui, a metal engraver who was awarded the title of "Contemporary Master Craftsman" in 2002 and the Yellow Ribbon Medal in 2007, has created a wristwatch featuring the engraving technique "moving engraving," adding a new chapter to the history of Credor.

In the 27 years since he began engraving, Terui has always brought a variety of engraved works to the world, based on his belief of "creating something completely unique." Inspired by the Chinese philosopher Zhuangzi's "Dream of the Butterfly," this model features butterflies flapping their wings on a rotating disc, realizing Terui's long-held dream of moving engraving.

By turning the crown at the 4 o'clock position, six engraved 18K yellow gold butterflies gracefully flutter on the rotating disc. The rotating disc is crafted from engraved 18K white gold, while the openwork arabesque motifs at 12, 4, and 8 o'clock, which serve as indexes, are crafted from 18K yellow gold. The three outer butterflies flap their wings as they pass under the arabesque motif.

The movement, visible from the back, is also delicately engraved with gracefully blooming wisteria flowers. Two butterflies, one made of white mother-of-pearl and one made of black mother-of-pearl, are inlaid among the wisteria swaying in the breeze, creating a dreamlike world.

The butterfly's driving mechanism for this piece was assembled by Terui himself, while the assembly, including the movement, was handled by contemporary master craftsman Hiraga Satoshi. There are over 70 parts that make the engraving work, and each part requires delicate adjustment to ensure smooth movement of the butterfly. This piece would not have been possible without Terui and Hiraga's outstanding skills.

Two master craftsmen have created an elegant watch in a world filled with exquisite technique and intricate beauty.

<Credor> was born in 1974 as a brand of high-end dress watches with rich individuality, combining Japanese sensibilities with exquisite technology. True to its name, which means "crète d'or" (golden peak) in French, the brand continues to preserve its beauty and quality by applying the techniques of master craftsmen to carefully selected materials, from the movement to each and every tiny component.
