On July 23, Alexander McQueen held a reception party to celebrate the opening of its first flagship store in Japan, located in Aoyama, Tokyo. The two-floor storefront featured botanical art by floral artist Junichi Kakizaki. The theme of the event was "nature," a source of inspiration for Alexander McQueen. To celebrate the opening, celebrities in attendance included models TAO, Mayumi Sada, Mona Matsuoka, Eimi Kuroda, Kozue Akimoto, Naoki Kobayashi of EXILE, actors Hiroyuki Ikeuchi and Mika Ninagawa, and dancer Yoshito Ohno. Sarah Burton, the brand's creative director, who hosted the event, commented, "The craftsmanship at the heart of our collections is evident throughout this store."
