Viktor & Rolf's Spring/Summer 2014 collection offered a punk school look. Traditional uniform styles were deconstructed and reconstructed with a rebellious twist. Navy blazers and pleated skirts were transformed into one-shoulder minidresses, while white shirts and checked tops were embellished with graphic studs to express a rebellious spirit. Pleats were also used extensively, appearing in a variety of designs, including dresses with distorted pleats designed to hug the body and pleated skirts with unique origami-like structures. Compact tops were kept, while bottoms featured voluminous silhouettes with pleated skirts and knee-length flared pants. The color palette was also uniform colors: white, black, gray, and navy. Emblems and argyle patterns were key motifs, rendered in patchwork and beaded embroidery. The collection also incorporates sporty elements, such as bonded sweatshirts, vinyl pockets, and T-shirts spray-painted with graffiti.
Accessories also evoke a school and punk vibe, with safety pin ear cuffs, clutches with safety pin fastenings, and envelope-shaped bags. Rubber-soled mules, a variation on loafers, add a touch of whimsy to the look.
