IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living 2013, a B2B furniture trade fair, will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from November 6th to 8th.
This year, 322 companies from 13 countries and regions will exhibit, showcasing a wide variety of interior products. This will be the largest group exhibit from Hida, Japan's leading wooden furniture production region, since 1997. Chairs will be exhibited in collaboration with Torafu Architects.
Special exhibitions include "CREATIVE RESOURCE," a special exhibition by prominent architects and designers produced by architect Keiji Ashizawa; "9lass," which creates "light" from glass; "TALENTS/NEXT," a corner for emerging designers; and "JAPAN STYLE," a special booth by world-renowned interior designer Yukio Hashimoto showcasing Japanese design. At a press conference held on the 2nd, Tomonari Kato, chairman of the Japan Furniture Industry Promotion Association, mentioned the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and analyzed that "Japanese hospitality is 'behavior' and 'arrangement.'" He expressed his hopes for the future prosperity of the furniture industry, saying, "Interior design plays a very important role in 'arrangement.'"
