Balenciaga's 2015-16 Autumn/Winter men's collection is a minimalist, sartorially-inspired world. The strict structure pioneered by Cristóbal Balenciaga is reinterpreted with contemporary materials.
Inspired by landscapes imagined from natural elements: endless land, the horizon between sea and sky, ice and water, stone and plants, past and present. The color palette features minimalist black, deep green, contrasting blue, and a stone gray mix.
The collection is characterized by its detailed techniques and sense of volume. Particularly striking are the flat feel of seamless fabrics and the three-dimensional texture of stone, expressed through even knit. Simple pieces are expressed in a luxurious and sporty style, with Alexander Wang's signature style and silhouettes.
The envelope-like design was inspired by Balenciaga's signature "cocoon" silhouette. The collection is packed with attention to detail, including paper-like waterproof nylon, sleeves finished with Framis tape, and a suede coat that is seamless on both the front and back.
