The takeaway coffee cup is one of the most familiar objects in daily life. But what happens when its recognizable shape is reimagined in leather? IM MEN will launch “TO GO,” a new accessory inspired by this everyday object, on November 1, 2026.

With its gently rounded silhouette and details reminiscent of a cup lid, the design transforms an ordinary, familiar form into an accessory to be worn and carried. Through a change in material, an object embedded in everyday life takes on an entirely different character.
The starting point for “TO GO” is the takeaway coffee cup found in cafés and on city streets. Designed to hold a drink, fit comfortably in the hand, and travel with us, its simple form has been reinterpreted by IM MEN as a leather accessory designed to hold small personal items.

Retaining the familiar outline of a coffee cup, the design incorporates layered leather panels along its sides, together with an attached strap. The result brings together the recognizable form of an everyday object and the functionality of a fashion accessory.

What makes the design particularly compelling is its attention to the original form rather than the addition of elaborate decoration. The curves and proportions of a coffee cup, details we rarely stop to consider, become more pronounced when expressed in leather. By changing the material, IM MEN draws attention to the sculptural qualities of an object we encounter almost without noticing.
The familiar gesture of picking up a coffee cup becomes a new way of carrying an object as part of an outfit. Although small in scale, the accessory changes in character depending on how it relates to the body.

Another striking image shows the white “TO GO” resting in the palm of a hand. The gesture of gently cradling the cup, together with the soft appearance of the leather, draws attention to the understated beauty of the movements involved in handling everyday objects.
“TO GO” will be available in three colors: white, beige, and black. Priced at ¥36,300 including tax, it measures 10.2 cm wide, 11.8 cm high, and 8.6 cm deep.

Recreating the shape of a familiar everyday object in an unexpected material is a simple idea, yet “TO GO” invites us to reconsider the relationships between an object's purpose, its material, and the human body.
Even the objects we handle without a second thought may possess a beauty of form we have yet to discover. With “TO GO,” IM MEN offers a subtle shift in how we perceive the objects of everyday life.
