Y’s has unveiled its latest photographic project, “TOKYO: HELD MOVEMENT,” shot by photographer Max Vadukul for the brand’s 2026 Spring/Summer collection.

Photographed on the streets of Tokyo, the series reflects Y’s enduring philosophy through an interplay between people, clothing, and the urban environment.

Rendered in Vadukul’s signature black-and-white imagery, Y’s garments appear charged with inner energy. Rather than blending into the cityscape, the clothes assert a quiet presence—contained, restrained, yet unmistakably strong.

“HELD MOVEMENT” is not about choreography.
It focuses on control and tension, capturing moments when the body pauses while intention continues beneath the surface. This suspended state—movement held back rather than released—forms the conceptual core of the series.

Within each frame exists a subtle force found between breath and release: life under pressure. The images reveal a balance between body and garment, where neither dominates, and meaning emerges from their relationship.

Continuing a sequence of seasonal publications, this body of work has also been shaped into a dedicated photobook designed by Y’s creative director Claudio Dell’Olio.
The photobook will be offered as a limited gift to customers who purchase Y’s 2026 Spring/Summer collection items totaling ¥44,000 (tax included) or more, while supplies last—transforming the photographic experience into something tactile and enduring.
