LUDLOW BLUNT, a barber salon originally from Brooklyn, New York, the birthplace of art and fashion trends, will open a new location in Daikanyama (1F HARAPPA, 14-15 Daikanyama, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) on August 5th. Led by Master Meister Barber Russell Manley, the salon's proven techniques and vintage atmosphere reminiscent of the good old days of America have continued to attract famous musicians, fashion industry figures, Hollywood stars, and politicians. The new Daikanyama location will feature master barbers Koichi Shinoda and Yuichi Baba, both of whom trained at the main store and have been recognized by Russell. They will handle haircuts, shaving, and beard styling. Everything from chairs and cabinets to decorative accessories, fixtures, and interior materials will be imported directly from New York, faithfully recreating the original store. In addition, there will be private rooms for VIPs that are not available in New York salons, as well as a vintage-style cafe inspired by Brooklyn, where events and workshops will be held. While being developed as an "adult social venue," it will also utilize a unique worldview not found in Japan and be used as a filming location for steam sessions and movies.
In addition, the staff aprons and uniforms will be designed by Kodaka Kazuki of Adjustable Costumes, and will be sold in-store in original designs inspired by uniforms and vintage clothing from the 1920s and 1930s, with plans to re-import them to the main store.
