From March 18th to April 2nd, the select shop Suikinchikamokudotenmeikai in Omotesando, Tokyo, will be hosting a solo exhibition by Shigaraki ceramic artists and husband-and-wife duo Otani Tetsuya and Momoko, titled "Tetsuya and Momoko's Tableware: A Two-Person Exhibition."
The exhibition will feature a wide selection of Otani's most popular flatware, as well as each couple's individual pieces and tea utensils.
Otani Tetsuya's flatware features a simple and beautiful design, shaped on a potter's wheel. While taking into consideration functionality, such as easy stacking for storage and easy cleaning, it also exudes the warmth of a handmade piece. Not only can it be placed over an open flame, but it also looks great on the dining table. Otani Momoko's plant-painted tableware, characterized by the warmth of the earthenware, is suitable for a wide range of dishes, from small Japanese sweets to everyday meals.
On the first day of the exhibition, March 18th, there will be an in-store event from 3pm where you can enjoy BELLOCQ tea and Momoko Otani's handmade baked goods.
