Two brands that have shaped distinct fashion narratives—street and mode—converge once again into a single expression. A BATHING APE (BAPE®) has unveiled its latest capsule collection with COMME des GARÇONS, titled A BATHING APE® × COMME des GARÇONS 2026SS COLLECTION. The release will be available exclusively at BAPE STORE® COMME des GARÇONS Osaka.

At the core of the collection lies the concept of “Pop Art.” By incorporating the analog qualities inherent to silkscreen printing—misalignment, fading, and ink irregularities—the collaboration reinterprets each brand’s iconic motifs through a new visual lens.


Reframing Graphics
Signature elements from BAPE®, including APE HEAD, BABY MILO®, and BAPE® CAMO, are reconstructed in a predominantly monochrome palette. Accents of yellow and blue introduce a vivid contrast, amplifying their pop-art sensibility.

What distinguishes this collection is that it does not simply remix existing graphics. Instead, it embraces the imperfections of silkscreen techniques—such as print shifts and ink bleed—as intentional design elements, imbuing the visuals with a sense of temporality and material presence.

In doing so, the collection subtly exposes the tension between reproducibility—central to streetwear—and the singularity associated with art.

A Constructed Relationship
The treatment of logos is particularly telling. The COMME des GARÇONS logo is layered with “A BATHING APE®” and “BY BATHING APE” in an inverted arrangement, creating a deliberate visual dissonance.

Rather than presenting the two brands side by side, this composition suggests a curated relationship—one that has been edited, reframed, and recontextualized. It echoes COMME des GARÇONS’ longstanding approach of subverting established values, while intersecting with BAPE®’s roots in street culture.

From Graphics to Objects
The lineup spans four T-shirt designs, alongside a coach jacket, oxford shirt, denim shorts, caps, socks, and keychains. Standout pieces include a coach jacket featuring repeated APE HEAD motifs across the back, as well as a BABY MILO® leather shoulder bag crafted from sheepskin.

These items extend beyond merchandise; they function as three-dimensional translations of graphic concepts, transforming visual language into physical form.
