Reebok will be re-releasing the original Ventilator sneaker in a limited edition on January 17th. The Ventilator is a running shoe released in 1990. As its name suggests, the shoe features highly breathable window mesh on the sides. The cushioning, developed in collaboration with NASA, includes the original shock-absorbing material Hexalite, and the plastic arch parts were innovative for the time, making it a pioneering example of sneaker technology. In addition to its functionality, the design, featuring a sharkskin print and neon colors, has been a hit with fashionistas. The Ventilator is priced at ¥13,000. It will be available at the Reebok online shop, the Roppongi Hills and Odakyu Department Store Shinjuku branches, and select sneaker shops. Sizes range from 23cm to 30cm.
