CHANEL, under artistic director Virginie Viard, held its Spring/Summer 2020 ready-to-wear collection show in Paris on October 1st.

The venue, the Grand Palais, featured a set that recreated the rooftops of Paris. The collection had a light and free-spirited mood, based on the theme of the French film movement "Nouvelle Vague" that began in the late 1950s.

The color palette was based on gray, black, and white, with occasional splashes of red, orange, pink, blue, and neon colors.
Significant items include printed chiffon, organza feathers, and raffia fringe, just like those worn by the main characters in the film.
