On the 22nd, tricot COMME des GARÇONS presented its 2014 Spring/Summer collection in a floor show format. The designer, Kurihara Tao, based the collection on the theme of "elegance." The collection featured a wide range of soft, airy pieces, often featuring A-line silhouettes. Pleated polyester jersey fabrics featured elegantly flowing shirts and skirts. See-through polyester organza, perfect for spring and summer, featured Eastern European folklore-inspired floral and gingham prints, creating a variety of layered looks. The brand's signature sculptural style was still present. Tops featured gathered fabric at the armholes and neck for volume, and shirts with vertical seams for a flared silhouette. Frequent use of seams was evident throughout the collection, including a flared skirt with a border seam and an asymmetrical cupro dress with a similarly bias seam. The collection's volume and patterns created a flowing effect. The special Trico series shown at the exhibition, which features a more Kurihara-esque look with the brand name embroidered in pink against a black background, was themed around "weddings." Using off-white and black, the collection included floral jacquard sets and tops, as well as a dress with a blouse and skirt joined at the back waist.
