ISSEY MIYAKE MEN's 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection, marking its second season under designer Yusuke Takahashi, was held at the brand's own showroom in Paris. Takahashi, who travels the world with a backpack, drew inspiration from the majestic natural scenery to create his collection. This season, he used his signature batik dyeing technique, brush-dyed in three colors to create a magma-like effect, which was then incorporated into simple suits. A dynamic poncho, partially cut and shrunk from double knit, represents a fjord. Blousons and coats crafted from quilted prism film fabric offer a sporty yet glamorous look, changing appearance depending on the angle. A homespun jacket, woven with wool and nylon prism film tape, is also suitable for evening wear. The finale series of vibrant prints depicts a rainbow. The transfer print fabric is pleated and twisted to create nuance. Making full use of innovative materials in vibrant colors, the collection was typical of Isse Imiyake, but added a new dimension.
