A pop-up store by NNN, a collective of cutting-edge brands and artists, is open at the TOKYO Kaihoku (Liberation Zone) on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku until the 28th.
The collective consists of gigi by tomohiko horiguchi (by Tomohiko Horiguchi), imousia (by Masashi Inoue), JUNYA WARASHINA (by Junya Warashina), MARUKO (by Tokida Tomohiro), TOMOUMIONO (______PE2013 collection No.5) (by Tomomi Ono), Yuri Hasegawa (by Hasegawa Yuri), POTTENBURN TOHKII (by Nakajima Tokiko), and CONTRARIANT (by Higashimaru Taihan).
All of the members have studied at overseas schools such as Syndica in Paris, Saint Martin in London, and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. They are apparently on friendly terms and regularly hold joint exhibitions together.
"The shop's theme is 'I want to take it off,' and it reflects our desire for people to enjoy fashion freely. We are not so concerned with sales, but rather with the aim of discovering and incubating new Tokyo designers. We are targeting fashion enthusiasts who don't usually visit Isetan, as well as foreign customers who are interested in Tokyo culture," says the assistant buyer in charge at Isetan.
