Julien David's 2013-14 Fall/Winter collection was unveiled at Paris Fashion Week. The Tokyo-based designer, Julien David, explained, "This time, I tried to combine lightweight materials like down and organza with high-quality materials like alpaca in a way that was uniquely my own. While the collection is based on a traditional French-inspired 'well-off' style, I was imagining the same girl as last season (the theme was 'spoiled child'). So, while the collection is dressy, it also has a bit of rebelliousness and humor." Classic collared jackets and coats are the main pieces, featuring shapes and details designed with a focus on roundness. The collection is unified in muted tones like navy, black, and gray, with short sleeves and pants, and mini skirts for a fresh look. The oversized down coat features a hood and a see-through fabric, revealing the feathers inside. Other designs combine materials with a variety of textures, including polka dot lace layered over knitwear and velvet, and using spider web-like wool lace and plush-like alpaca shag.
The brand also unveiled its first handbag. This quilted bag made from lambskin is called "THE PILLOW BAG." It is designed to resemble a pillow and is lined with velvet fabric on the inside.
